Smith designs unique Cold Clean™ system for Boston Scientific allowing tank exchange without loss of flow

Boston Scientific turned to Smith Engineering to design a 5 GPM DI UF system that would have continuous flow to their process.  Smith’s engineering team produced a mechanical and electrical design to meet their requirements.

The design consisted of parallel two-beds and parallel mixed-beds to accommodate tank exchanges without loss of flow. Twin alternating distribution pumps with automatic starting upon pump failure. Building BMS/BAS integration with Smith-Link™ device for remote alarming. UL listed control panels. Online water quality monitoring with Mettler M300 units.

The system is a compact, built to order, single unit machine that meets or exceeds USP spec water standards with simplified utility hookups (city water supply, drain, supply power, loop out, loop return).
